Innovators of the Nu-Jazz and Acid Jazz are honored in a 2 disc compilation showcasing original favorites and remixes, covers, and tributes. The set is a Celebration of Shuya and Yoshihiro Okino as legendary dj's, producers, and musicians. For those following the Nu and Acid Jazz scene, the names are nothing of a surprise and are notified as masterminds behind the boards of such records as "Spirit of The Sun" and the single "Brightness These Days". The sound is very refined; funky drums, often break beat, often techno-scatter, mixed with crucial jazzy elements such as laid back keyboards, and rolling bass lines. The CD starts off very smooth and laid back and then weaves into electronic dance landscapes. The variety is refreshing, but so is the cohesive pulling the two cd's together. It's a respectable tribute to two masters of the genre.
