The Silence is less Death Metal and more gothic/sythpop metal suitable and ready for radio airplay no matter how much the band doth protest with tracks like "Poisonradio". Every track offers a surprising new variant on the metal form; the first sone "Eyeseebalck" offers clean instrumentals and lyrics sung so that you can make out the words without benefit of liner notes. The we get into "Redhouse" and then the low-key growling starts and keeps going on through the aforementioned "Poisonradio". But then we can follow along again with "Nocturnal". It terms of the Death Metal, this album is easy listening-and that's a compliment.
