The Chasm started off interestingly enough with a melody that seemed to belie the throng of death metal I was expecting. Ah well, can't be right all the time. Actually it's not as bad as all that.. The Chasm does have a strong musical sense, no matter how loudly the lyrics are screamed. The band also has a unique sound that sets them apart from other modern metal acts, and that originality and distinctiveness is a constant throughout the album. This is not for everybody's taste, but I think that the been there, heard that cynical metal fan will find something intriguing to listen too with this album.
