I've lost track of all the variations there are of the metal genre, but no matter how you dice it Sourvein's Emerald Vulture is metal. This four song EP is short, but it really isn't sweet. At least not sweet in terms of flavouring, but perhaps 'Sweet' like the adjective. As in that's some sweet guitar work , and the throbbing base ain't bad either. Most metal bands use volume to overcompensate, fortunately Sourvein does not. One can truly appreciate the nuances and beats in the music, so long as one has a discerning ear and a mind void of headbanging induced trauma. Suitable for fans who like their metal listenable as well as loud.
