Dabaser are an atmospheric rock quartet whose punchy and airy tunes do nothing to really excite. The band is quite capable. They play simple riffs and jam hard enough, but everything is quite diluted. The vocals are not Debaser's strength, and the lead singer sings very basic lyrics. They don't exactly reach into you and dig at any sort of emotion; they remain very generic. The sung delivery is in a lower pitch and has no inflections to distinguish it from the music. The guitars float and on occasion pierce something more than just space, but it's not enough to keep this group sailing. The bass is ever present, never allowing for breaths and spaces in-between the rhythm to punctuate the essence of the music, and the drums lay behind the music and stay on task. The band is a fine unit, but with very little inventing behind their sound, they'll simply lag behind in the current of rock and roll.
