Jade Redd is Madalena and James Brigg; the siren and the sound. Madalena is a talented vocalist breathing a sultry and silky smooth life into all her songs. James Briggs creates orchestrations of rock and roll ballads. Jade Redd is a great number of things; it's got some metal in it, it has some rock, it has some balladry, it even has a little bit of folklore. Songs are reminiscent of something Celine Dion might've sung but also have a harder edge to their sound. Madalena is like a ghost caught up in a storm, and holds her ground even when chaos erupts. There is nothing dazzling on the album, but it's very...smooth. The songs just blow along like mist on a lake; the don't rest too heavy in your soul. Some are even catchy, bordering on a song you might have heard playing from the radio in 1992. It's a fine piece of work but nothing sparks this candle to make it a firework, it's just a candle. If you like soft adult contemporary rock that won't jar your bones but might energize you on a sunday afternoon staring at the sky, this is for you
