If you like folk/blues/rock from the heart of America's gothic south, than you are absolutely going to flip over Casey Abrams new album. The set-up is simple enough; just Abrams, his guitar and his soulful lyrics. Abrams' music is a throwback to 60s style musical storytelling, but don't think for a minute that Abrams, or his style, is stale. The acoustic music and Abrams' guitar work is beautiful to listen to, his talent as a songwriter is ample-every song is so heart felt with something to important to say. Everybody made a fuss last year over Johnny Cash after the release of Walk The Line, I hope I'm not too bold in suggesting that we're seeing history repeat itself.
