This album may start like your Mom's favourite Christmas record, but Betty quickly establishes themselves differently. While sitting around listening to Holiday music in the middle of April may sound odd, it wasn't to me. Betty creates such an incredible combination of styles and genres it almost makes you dizzy to think of them all. But to name a few there's pop, funk, blues, dance and gospel. The harmonies are wonderful to listen to and the lyrics are quirky and funny. Not your typical Christmas music either as Betty waxes poetic about getting stuck with Lou with the flu under the mistletoe at the Christmas party, or eating Christmas dinner alone. A joyful album suitable for anytime of year.
