From the land of grunge in Seattle, Washington, comes this hard rocking punk band. Although that's not to say that Lake of Falcons' debut isn't a little grungy, but that just may be the modern nature of indie rock. If the Tragically Hip embraced their inner punk then they might sound like this band. The music itself is solid, just really well made. The classic three-piece set-up works in the bands favour; it's simple and elegant, ready made to really rock without any pretensions. The songwriting defies typical rock song writing conventions, each track demands attention because of the attention to detail. A truly wonderful little rock album that doesn't need to get complicated to be complex.
