Tells last incarnation was as Delicate Awol, they made a name for themselves performing an off-beat collection of psychedelic jazz tunes. Tells sort of picks up in that tradition, but it's looser and more laid back. There's a wonderful collection of instruments, all used to a bare minimum, but always used at just the right time for just the right effect. There's even a track that features Japanese vocals adding an entirely new dimension. At the centre of it all though is Jim Version's expert arrangements and Caroline Ross' haunting vocals, think Norah Jones via the fusion or cool eras of jazz in the 50s or 60s.
