The first Prof Louie album I listened to, a 35th anniversary Woodstock tribute, took me quite by surprise. I was amazed at how well Louie and his band were able to evoke the feeling of 1969 in a recording studio nearly four decades after the fact. Well Louie and the gang surprise again with a tribute to a Century of the Blues. This time though the band isn't covering bands so much as they are covering styles and genres. The songs are original, but the spirit is authentic. Prof Louie and the Crowmatrix takes us on a journey through gospel, big band, r and b, jazz and rock. Wonderfully arranged and performed, this album is recommended to anyone who even remotely enjoys the blues.
