Here we have the first album from ITP. Obviously sets the stage for what the collective did for Second Hand Rubbish, but I think I like this one a little more. It still has excellent rock credentials but there's a little more experimentation and a little less polish to some of the songs. Where as Second Hand Rubbish was acoustic paradise, Deflate The Stars has a more of an 80s New Wave twist to some of the music, it's noticeable on some tracks more than others, but sythesiser sound is hard to deny when you hear it. Bottomline: if you like progressive rock that's played sincerely without a lot of post-production frills, anything by the ITP is worth checking out.
