I don't know what's up with the Virgin Mary-esque cockroach on the cover art or the blood-covered, skull-headed bunny rabbit in the liner notes. Maybe that's why the album is called Mysterioso? People call this hard rock, but I'm afraid I must disagree on that point. The first track called “Float” is so marvelously understated, with the low, grungy voice of front man Antonio Aguilar almost a background vocal against the jam session-style riffs of the bass and drums. Indeed all three musicians that comprise Totimoshi seem to think themselves more like instrumentalists who just happen to play rock music. To drive the point home the tracks “Dirt Farmer” and “Vitreol-a” don't contain lyrics, and “Virtreol-a” stands out further by the way it sounds like a 30s torch song on vintage vinyl played over a gramophone. Overall, excellent album by an excellent band.
