On his website, Greg Gardner lists his influences as Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Adams and Jackson Browne. I'll give him all three, I can definitely hear their influence in Gardner's nine song disc. Generally, I found Gardner's music a little more emo then I normally like, but not enough to turn me off completely. In his favour is Gardner's work as a guitarist, he has a raw talent for the instrument that is easily apparent. The music is intimate and passionate, and occasionally given to some classic rock tendencies, undoubtedly, frequent visits to Dad's record collection has served Gardner well. Although flawed, an impressive debut, and at 20 years old, Gardner only has time to get better and better.
