They may say they hail from the United States, but you'd swear that the Invisible Eyes were trying to catch-up with the British Invasion of the 1960s. According to their press, the band describes their music as “psychedelic/punk/garage,” and while punk is apparent in tracks like “Don't Wanna Go,” other songs like “Tired Night” and “Revelation” seem more in line with the Kinks than the Sex Pistols. Far be it for the band to be easy to categorize, they also throw in the tunes like “Luanne,” which can only be described as psychedelic western. From the odd song titles to the bizarre cover art, what we have here apparent is a band that likes their work. A fun, little album that keeps toes tapping, recalling a bygone era of great music. Bonus points to bassist Ian Barnett for excellent maraca work on “That Old Song...”
