The band's follow-up to their debut album, Heavy Denver, is a delightful mix of of punk and new wave influenced pop rock, and it comes along at a time when it would fit in well with a lot of the rock music getting radio airplay. Fortunately, TVForDogs has a specific sound unique to them; Roller is a staggering mix of forms and influences. Some tracks, like "The Universe Is Blue", are punk infused rock outs; the title track, by comparison, is more deliberate and melodic. Which is immediately followed by "Everlasting Sun", a love song not to the grunge sound pioneered by Nirvana in the early 90s. Do yourself a favour: find this album before the mainstream leeches on to it.
