Any album that starts off with the type of organ music that leaves you with the feeling that Bela Lugosi is sneaking up behind you, fangs at the ready, gets a seal of approval in my books. Carriers of Dust though is not an album of organ music however, just to put aside any confusion. This is black metal, not by usual cup of tea, but I'll be damned if I didn't like it. It's got energy and charism and a really unique approach to the genre. There seems to have been a type of artistry involved here that a lot of black metal outfits don't invest much time in. The music is inspired from a divergent collection of sources, even squeezing in some acapella singing at one point. An album that truly surprised me.
