Filled with the type of energy that can only come from recording an entire album in a day, comes Blair's Treadmarks, which is a fairly apt title for this effort. Blair uses pop as the nucleus for his music, he then fuses it with jazz, blues, funk and even a little gospel. There's an intimacy to the album that really connects to the listener, if you close your eyes you'd swear that Blair was across the room serenading you. This feeling is helped by Blair's wonderful acoustic guitar, sometimes the only instrument to be featured on a given track with the possible exception of background percussion. Blair's got rhythm, he's got some catchy hooks and he's got one great album in Treadmarks.
