Despite the employment of what seems like a redundant point in the title of the first track, the Blood Brothers prove that you don’t have to be an English major to know how to punk out. The raw energy of the first song really came as surprise and I don’t know why. The dual vocals of Morgan Henderson and Cody Votolato play off each other so well, and even though they’re screaming the lyrics to such a degree your own throat will itch, it never occurs that this is anything less than artistry—not noise. The music of the Blood Brothers is intricate, aggressive and uncompromising. It can be chaotic at times but there is method in the madness: a sophisticated wall of sound that will shake your feelings loose without letting you lose sight of the artistry and message in the music.
