Happy 300th release Earache Records, with this disc you once again proved that you are what you play. There is such excellent drum work on this album, driving beats of near perfection, so subtle you might miss them. There's guitar riffs so complex that the player must have six fingers on his hand. But just when you think you're getting into it, then the screaming lyrics start, all but drowning out those impressive displays of instrumental talent. Fortunately, those screaming lyrics are kept in check for the most part to low growl. The band also includes some wonderful keyboard instrumentals on tracks like "The Scorpions Dance", which had a kind of 70s horror meets 30s monster movie vibe. A delightful surprise, with reservations.
