This former member of The Be Good Tanyas has put out three albums in four years, so you know that she’s no slouch or slacker. The front of the album may imply country, but Holland’s sound is more in keeping with a pop-folk kind of aesthetic, at least until you get to the title track and you're struck with a kind of light jazz beat. So while the album may not be country, I can’t really say that it isn’t southern in flavour. There’s a veritable orchestra of musicians that participates in the making of this record, which makes you think as you listen that this isn’t so much an album as a recording of a bunch of people that got together to jam one summer evening. This is just wonderful acoustic music.
