Sephardic musician Edery teams up with Ruskin, who’s a veritable United Nations of a lyricist in order to honor some of Spain’s greatest poets. So you’re probably thinking that you wouldn’t listen to this unless you were being forced with headphones on for a music class or something and that would be a little close-minded of you. I freely admit that this isn’t my usual brand of margarita mix, but this is extremely well done classical Spanish guitar music. The songs are split between performances in English and Spanish, but there’s really no language barrier here because the spirit of the music comes across all too well. Besides, the liner notes have lyrics in both languages so nobody gets left behind, except maybe German speakers.
