Where has this band been? This is a collection of lucky 13 tracks that proves that there are still a few bands out there that understand the simple pleasures of a well-constructed pop song. Bred in Alberta and signed with D.O.A. founder Joe Keithley, Once Just skirts hard rock, punk and ska but with a degree of lighthearted whimsy. Not only is this album a great jam, it also has great harmony. Once Just also knows how to take it up a notch and be a little more urgent with some of things they’re trying to say. A marvelously inventive band that knows how to make a song that goes down the ear lobe smooth. I expect big things from these guys.
