Having recently had the pleasure of reviewing an EP of Old Crow, I was pleased to be given something bigger to chew on. This band brings a wonderfully jovial spirit to their music; it comes from a place where the old-fashioned country jamboree never went out of fashion and music was fun and not all melodramatic and super serious. This band works really hard to find the perfect instrumental flow that makes you truly appreciate the artistry in playing an instrument well. With a furious harmonica, a bust banjo and something called a “guitjo”, which I can only assume is exactly what I think it is. The Old Crow Medicine Show is an outfit that can take tradition and spin it to feel brand new.
