Ari-Up and Tessa Pollit are core members of The Slits, a UK band whose sound is a combination of punk, dub, and reggae. Backing vocals on Revenge of the Killer Slits were provided by Tessa's daughter Phoebe, Sex Pistol's drummer Paul Cook's daughter Holly, the Clash's Mick Jones' daughter Lauren, and UK TV personality Miquita Oliver. I don't feel overly comfortable judging the Slits by just the three songs on Revenge, but after watching a video of a song called “Shoplifting” which they performed at a Selfridges store, I do feel comfortable trusting my first impression—these girls are crazy, but it's refreshing.
