Ah, destructo rock, very different from death rock, or satanic rock, this palatable genre is filled with ostentatious dwellings of visionary grievance. Doing away with peaceable rock, destructo rock recoils itself down the darkest passages of Dante’s Inferno. So too, must destructo rock render itself to some of the most rudimentary elements of musical lamentation, and that of course, is being able to play the instruments. Something is found lacking, however, and more importantly wanting in Black Elk’s collaborative debut.
Found entirely out of its element, this ten track selection reveals a level of minimal effort compounded with mass amounts of screaming. An entire collection of repetitive themes, and underdeveloped artistic quality, I was sadly disappointed by this well anticipated first work by Black Elk.
