Techno never left the dance floor and the duo Kyau & Albert are here to prove it. Although times have changed from the early 90s, now we call coffee a “café latte” and techno by its new name is “electronica”. So why haven’t you heard Kyau & Albert at your latest 90s revival night club? Possibly because Kyau & Albert are famous in their homeland of Germany. They are what Brits call “nice lads”, two clean cut techno-artists that have been rated as one of the top 100 DJ acts, who travel the globe bringing their vast collection of music to night clubs everywhere. You probably haven’t been to the hippest spots in New York or Australia and seen them in action. . .yet.



Kyau and Albert used to be battling each other, as they were called Kyau vs. Albert, but somewhere along the way they created their own label, dubbed Euphonic, grapped a few other beat-pumping peddlers and changed their stance on each other to the more eco-friendly Kyau & Albert.



So what can be expected from their latest collection? Firstly, a substantial amount of music, two CDs of twenty three tracks altogether; an imposing collection, which includes a music video to boot. They sound uncannily like Everything But The Girl, a band famous in the early 90s for a song called “Missing”. This is unique in itself, as EBTG has been a hard band to replicate musically. Even songs you may think are ridiculously named, such as “Teddybears” actually ends up sounding really good. One song in particular stands out as that Worldvibe title suggests; it combines electronica with African heartland voices, and ends up being quite beautiful as African tribal music can have a similar pulsing beat as techno.



I should imagine this is another great addition to their DJ performance and will keep them in the top 100 DJ list for a long time to come.
