After hitting the snooze button four times this morning, I was reminded of the value of choice. Dance Water Records' sequel to the Trance Nation CD teeter-totters between trance and dance, mainly because it is a compilation. Executive producer Brad Pressman has chosen great artists, but not the most enticing tracks. For a chilled trance-esque experience I recommend the tracks by Kyau and Albert, and Afterburn. For an energized vibe, my top selections are tracks from Blank and Jones and Jan Loper. My distaste for compilation albums is in the lack of choice. I only grooved on a quarter of Pressman's selections. However, If you were to play this at social gathering, or at an evening cafe with a dance floor, you'd be less concerned.
Cheers to choice in listening.
