You can all put your Klingon suits away! The title is not referring to Starfleet Academy, we are talking about the group on the Warner label. The Acedemy Is... line-up includes: William Beckett(vocals), Mike Carden (guitars), Michael Guy Chislett (guitars), Andy Mrotek (drums, backing vocals) and Adam T. Siska (bass). Santi is a project that instantly shows some jump. The project reminds me quite clearly of the British rock band The Escape Club. Originating from London, England, lead singer Trevor Steel with John Holliday and friends are well remembered for their single “Wild Wild West”. “Bulls In Brooklyn” seems to be cut from the same cloth. The track displays a lot of the same veneer. Cruising around with Fall Out Boy on the Honda Civic Tour, The Academy Is... will be part of the opening line-up, along with +44, Paul Wall and Cobra Starship. Members of The Academy Is... recently showed up in a Fall Out Boy video as rivaling vampires. The band was born between many talks from rival band members whose respective gigs went bust, and seems to be a great fit for front men William Beckett and Michael Carden. The first single of the disc is “We've Got A Big Mess On Our Hands”. The band is playing 2 Canadian shows in mid-2007. They are in Toronto May 26, and Vancouver June 28. So if you happen to show up looking for a Star Trek convention you might want to cloak yourself just in case someone sees you.
