I'm at somewhat of a loss as to how Connecticut band called Dharma Brown, and their album Slick Interpretations might be categorized. First off, I have to say that I love the older man the band's chosen to feature on their album—and I'm hoping he's the Potato Man they refer to in their thank-yous. But back to the point. I guess Dharma Brown belongs alongside the likes of Dave Matthews and Sam Roberts; they're a kind of rootsy-rock/feel good band. And though it may be complimentary to be placed in such company, I unfortunately don't think Dharma Brown possess anything exceptional that might raise them above members of their pack. On the up side, these guys sound like they really enjoy doing what they're doing—and that's always fun to listen to, right?
Dharma Brown is: Tom Gale Jr. (guitar, vocals), Ed Dickman (bass, backing vocals), Tom Gale Sr. (keyboards), Shawn Raymond (drums).
