Since the debut of his self-titled release in 2003, Canadian crooner Michael Bublé has quickly made a name for himself.
His fourth studio album, Crazy Love, has made a big splash onto the charts opening at number one less than a week after its release. The album features the very best of 1940’s big band and modern/contemporary jazz music. Along with the Vancouver heartthrob, the album also features Ron Sexsmith, Sharon Jones and Naturally 7.
Bublé scores big with fans and critics right off the bat after co-writing “Haven’t Met You Yet,” the first release off the album. This single meshes pop music with the commanding brass and string instruments of an orchestra - all coming together to produce a show-stopping piece.
But “Haven’t Met You Yet” only appears fifth on Crazy Love. The album kick starts with a powerhouse ballad, “Cry Me A River” (and no, not the Justin Timberlake one). The song easily showcases Bublé’s amazing voice range and incredible voice capacity.
The modern-day Sinatra also throws in a Rat Pack favourite; “You’re Nobody Until Somebody Loves You.” Bublé successfully displays his creativity in song arrangement by slowing the number down to create a fresh take on a classic oldie.
Other notable songs on the album include, “Georgia On My Mind,” “Stardust,” and “All of Me”.
Ironically, the best two words to describe this album are indeed, Crazy Love: a feeling that fans share everywhere for the singer.
