At first, Kansas really doesn’t seem prime real estate to spawn hard-rocking punksters, but if you think deeper on it, is there really a better place than the Sunflower state to breed feelings of anger and resentment? I hardly think so. Made up of four friends mowing their way D-I-Y-style to the top of punk mountain, KTP quite masterfully builds rockin’ beats and riffs and compacts them into bursts of musical frenzy. There’s definitely an early 80s aesthetic with the music; a no frills approach that’s not beholden to anyone or anything. The trouble is I’m not sure how much of that is done by design. Either way, this is a solid punk album with no apologies.
