When I hear the term “party mix” I no longer think of a variety of chips from Humpty Dumpty, I think of the psaltery sounds of The Platinum Collection by Water Music Dance. While this project may celebrate the first 100 releases from Water Music Dance don't let the title fool you, it is 30 songs long. I looked for the remainder of the tracks for at least thirty minutes. Conceptually, the fact that the discs are smartly displayed in a shiny platinum case is very appealing.



Disc One : Kicks off with our boy Moby. The artist kicks it off right with “We Are All Made Of Stars (Tiesto Mix)”. However most after that the disc put me to sleep. Then again, maybe it was successful since that is what putting a person in a trance is designed to do. The tracks are exasperatingly never ending. If you are into the trance scene then this disc will seem picturesque. Although I can usually induce the same numbing feeling by sleeping on my arms behind my head for a period of 10 minutes! And it's free!



Disc 2 : Seems strengthened as it is given a boost to escalate and sure to spike up the equalizer a bit more. It's time to get your dance on! Floating to the intensifying sound that builds with Water Music's compilation of remixes and extended play dance trance tracks.



Whenever I used to hear the words “water” and “dance” together I'd hear the twang of the annoying Sponge Bob Squarepants theme song. The Platinum Collection by Water Music Dance offers me a relief; a choice of a quite different palette.
