Released this year, Shine’s new album is a must have. If you are a fan of Morcheeba, Zero 7, Massive Attack, Portishead or just any trip hop music in general this one is one for your collection. Consisting of 5 members Guillaume Simon on Keyboards, guitar, sax, and vocals, Laurent Houdard on guitar, Antoine Delecroix on baritone guitar and vocals, Benjamin Blaquieres on drums and of course the lovely and adorable Hanane Laraki on main vocals. Together since 2003 and with their now second CD this band has a lot going on. Now on tour with Morcheeba in Europe, they have worked hard to be where they are today.
This sexy down tempo, trip hop album is something I’m excited to now have in my collection. Each song has a beautiful intro that gives the album a consistency and wholesome peace. Both French and English songs are included in the album, giving the album diversity. The lyrics to the songs are beautifully touching. From dreaming of Hawai, to One Day’s dream of love each song has a realistic moment in life touch to it that is believable and, well, just touching and beautiful.
