Released in 2006 by Public Transic Recordings and Off Centre Studio, FragMental is an inspiring album by InsidaMind. The quote on the back of the album slot says “From deep within the valley of scatter pops… a quiet wind’s hiss wobbles tops of trees and turns sound loose.” These two poets have taken their artistry to a level beyond what I would have expected and have brought the poetry to life.

Not only is their album an A+ in terms of quality and sound, but seeing this brilliant DJ duo live will blow your mind. They truly get into the live performance vibe and become part of the show.

These two artists utilize their performance abilities and take them to the next level. They’re like watching a puppet show but sans puppets because they are the puppets, and take the music literally. Each song title is introduced at their shows and they take that into full consideration when performing it and the title becomes the live mime.

These DJ’s are truly magnificent, taking different electronic sounds, short quotes spoke by both female and male voices, and much more all through the use of a sound board full of goodies. Truly an inspiration for any type of artist to see, these two will make it far if they continue doing what they are, nothing will stop them.

The fun and futuristic vibes are mixed in with scratchy alien effects from movies and other such inspirations. There is defiantly no end to the sounds they could incorporate, and this is just one of the albums I picked up. The only drawback with this disc is that it’s short, but as the saying goes, it’s also very sweet.

Their new album is a vinyl, so now I have even more of a reason to locate a record player to start a vinyl collection, although might take me awhile tracking one down. But it’s defiantly worth the wait, and maybe I’ll attend one of their shows again before I even get the chance.
