A local Ontarian, from the tiny town of Pickering, Sarah Slean, immersed her heart into this album. Her best and most heart filled album yet and an even better follow up than expected to her previous album in 2004, Day One. This is Slean’s fifth official studio recording which features the hit single “Get Home.” The Baroness was released on March 11th this year, and with influences ranging from Tom Waits to Joni Mitchell, this beautiful fellow Canadian truly does give her all in everything she chooses to do. The mellow sounds of this soft pop rock album give it authenticity that is untouchable. Slean’s lyrics literally can bring the listener to tears they are so beautiful and moving. Her lyrics are truthful and honest. The words are a life story. The whole album is a magical masterpiece. This one is defiantly worth adding to the shelf for pop fans and soft rock fans alike.
