This fun indie rock album is not released until May 13th, but I got my hands on a copy early at the local Record Shop. The artsy cover of this album is what attracted my attention; it has a fun look, something that I would put up. A perfect example of indie rock pop, this group grabs the attentions of listeners with the rocky beats along with the poppy vocals. The group, consisting of Ben Gibbard, Chris Walla, Nicolas Harmer and Jason McGerr, have worked hard to come up with a sound they all love. The lengthy intros to the songs are what make this album good. The beautiful piano chords, edgy guitar sounds, electronic background noises and simple but perfect drum beats all together give this album authenticity. Although I defiantly think this album is a good one, I liked Plans better; the songs were a lot catchier and more fun to dance and bop your head to. Both albums have a bit of a different vibe, this one is more laid back and melodic, whereas plans is more poppy, so it really depends on your taste.
