Bobnoxious are far from obnoxious, in-fact they are almost profound in their dissolution of the drinking culture. Crammed onto 17 fast paced classic punk rock tracks are every aspect of drinking, even some unintentional ones; the excessive do-or-die dedication, the violence, the regret, the dismay, the incoherence, the despair of a dead end, the fatal consequences, laziness, stupidity, and most importantly, humor. And if there's one thing that raises all these elements into something higher, it is the humor. Even on quite ridiculous songs like "C'est La Vie", the non-chalence of the lyrics makes the song so average it becomes an archetype of the lifestyle. The humor is also biting like on "Rockaholics" : "Excessive indulgence/ How much more can we take this/ How will you know before you try". Even the "How much more can we take this" becomes a question posed to society, not just to the usual crew of drinking buddies. This becomes apparent on "Blow" where the song tells the story of a girl "wired on blow" and becomes a lament for crumbling judgement; succumbing to substance. Strangely enough, the group is also very melodic and a lot of fun to listen to, without being supportive of their lifestyle. Although the band loses their novelty after a few listens, the first listen comes as an epiphany as to what this group can really do and say. Like punk Tenacious D with a purpose.
