For as second time this year the Montreal Toy and Comic Convention will be hosting fans again Sunday, November 18th, 2007 at 10am to 5pm at the Courtyard By Marriott Airport in Montreal, QBC, Canada. The reason is due to overwhelming fan demand. Not bad for the events first annual showing.

The first scheduled event was held on Sunday, June 3rd, 2007. There were over fifty tables in the main room and an additional seventeen adjacent to that for toy and comic enthusiasts. A Marvel Comics artist Serge Lapointe was scheduled to be a guest at the event but couldn’t make it do to scheduling. The development of the show came about by the owners of the Montreal based on-line retailer Toys on Fire. The firm generally travels to other major cities to view the product. Toronto, New York and San Diego were traveled to regularly, but this year the event was hosted right in the city of Montreal. Merchants quickly snapped up the tables in a frenzy to showcase their wares. Comics, toys, action figures, Webkinz, Tamoguchi and Anime were stockpiled at the venue. Since the press release May 14, 2007 was issued 60 tables were taken immediately by vendors. The show has a lot of potential for growth, especially in a city where art and pop-culture have been celebrated liberally.
The following is an excerpt from the press release Toys on Fire started as a small comic book store on the corner of Van Horne and McEachran Avenue in 1992 has grown into a successful on-line business carrying action figures, toys, games and more. Run by self-proclaimed nerds, business owners David Mark and Thuan Nguyen know their products and what will appeal to the kid in everyone. Along with their team, they can get their hands on the toys that people want and are known for having products that can’t be found elsewhere. Toys on Fire also has two retail locations, on at the original Van Horne location and one in Barrhaven Ontario, near Ottawa.
The second event promises to be at least as good as the first and the price is right.
Admission pricing November 18th will be as follows: Admission Fees: Adults - $3.00, Children - $1.00, Kids 5 and under – FREE. For more info contact:
