From Rockabilly to Modern Rock

I found her in the usual spot where Casbah sets aside for band members, their backstage so to speak.  When I introduced myself to Failure, she seemed excited and said that if I diem1catch her after the show that she would defiantly be willing to chat for a few minutes.  I thanked her and went on my way.  It was between acts, we didn’t feel like waiting around for them to hit the stage, so we ventured to the Casbah lounge which is located downstairs from the Casbah.  Sure enough it was Rockabily 50’s night at the Lounge.  The band that was on was called the Raygun Cowboys and they were amazing.  The energy they exuded was endless and the music was what I would describe as, dancing Rockabilly 50’s Diner fun!  We were head bopping beat stomping and loving every minute of it.  We stuck around for 3 songs before making it upstairs just as Die Mannequin was getting on stage.

Die Mannequin always put on a great show, though this was my first time seeing them live, I have always been told from others who have that they are always full of energy, have a great time, rock it out and do their best.  Though this may be so, I wasn’t fully convinced, so I had to see them for myself.  And I have concluded from this show that they defiantly know how to rock out.  Though the audience didn’t seem as much into it as I would expect, Die Mannequin knows how to put on a performance.  Though a band may be tired or not, sick or not, or whatever the case may be; Die Mannequin always does their best and gives their fans what they enjoy the most.  Hard Punk,  and with the rough and tough Care Failure as the front girl, it’s defiantly, The Chick way.

After the show, I went up to Failure to see if she had a few minutes for me.  She was on stage packing up and I was reluctant to get in there after all the spectators left.  I asked her a few questions and she gave me some great answers, but my recorder unfortunately did not record.  So the next day I emailed Failure, and she responded right away saying she was sorry to hear about my recorder and that she had no problem emailing me some answers to the questions I asked, so I emailed her the questions.  She still has not yet got back to me however, so check back in the near future and hopefully I will get a chance to have a formal interview with her and then give you all the inside scoop of Die Mannequin, The Punk/Alternative/Metal Rock band with a chick attitude.

Rating wise, I decided to rate the Die Mannequin show, the Raygun Cowboys bit that I had the opportunity to see, and the overall night.  So, overall the night gets my 9.5/10 star rating for rock and roll and rockabilly packed fun, surprises and musical variety.  Die Mannequin gets an 8/10 star rating for their exhilarating performance and the RayGun Cowboys get a 9/10 star for their energy filled beats.
