I’ve already mentioned that they were formed in 2003, but I have not mentioned by whom! The well known lead singer, Heppner was playing with the band the Dropouts around the time when Priestess was about to be formed when three of its members made the sudden decision to head out to New York to form a new band, The Stills. Heppner was left all alone and decided that this would not last long. This is when he brought together Dyball, Nudo and Watchorn to form Priestess and just 2 years ago in 2005 they released their debut album “Hello Master”. The album was issued in Canada and the US and after just a few months Priestess nabbed themselves a major label recording contract with RCA in January 2006. After the recording label was solidified they began to remaster the album and in June 2006 it was finished. Now Priestess has joined up with bands Murder by Death and Clutch for their North American 2007-2008 tour and by the quality of the show and the fans in the audience the tour is a huge success and is still going on. In November and December they are travelling all across Canada, from Sudbury to Whistler to Saskatoon then they are making their way down to the US then back home on December 12th. Everywhere they go there are fans waiting and new ones arriving. They know how to nab the people and keep them wanting more.

The show went on a little after midnight and they rocked the house off Absinthe. From left to right people were head banging, tapping their feet, singing to the songs, and enjoying every bit of the music. They were like rock and roll gods on stage. Mid set, Watchorn the one guitar player walked off stage with his guitar into the audience and played his guitar off stage for a brief moment, enough time to get a few great photos in. They were so into the music that if you walked away you were sure to miss something brilliant. The drummer literally was one of the most intense of them all; he did not miss a beat and becomes part of the drums. The instruments were basically an extension of the guys. This is one rock and roll show that you should not miss. This band is definably the reason Canadian music does not cease to amaze this music lover.
