Can you please introduce the band to our readers?
Taylor (Vocals) Mike (guitar) Paul (bass) Dave (drums).
What are some of your backgrounds in music?
We have al kinds of musical background from choir, to other bands, to marching band etc. We have been crazy music fans our whole lives though there isn’t a person in the band that doesn’t listen to write or study music 24 hours a day.
Who are some musicians you idolize or influence your work?
Wow that is the most popular question I get and it’s still the hardest to answer because there are so many. everything from Pantera, to Blind Melon, Slayer, Hendrix, Kansas, Deftones, Zao Etc Etc.
What was your first concert and how did it influence you?
My first concert was White Zombie, filter opened up. It was amazing! The thing I took away the most from that show that has always stuck with me was that they put on a Real Show. No one just stood there they went nuts. It was breathtaking.
Can you tell me about Hellraiser’ Ball? Where will it be and who will be included in the line up?
It’s in Tampa Florida. We will be playing with Meshuagga, Motor Head, Opted, Devil Driver, God Forbid and Dark New Day. It’s going to be sick!
What can your fans expect from your latest album A Silent Protest?
They can expect all kinds of things, heavy ass shit mixed with a lot of different styles of music. We wrote a lot of the album 3 years ago so some of it is a little dated to us but I can guarantee you that it is a very fun listen.
When will it be available?
It hits stores on September 13th.
Are any of the tracks on that album available online to give your fans a sneak peek?
Yes on My Space www.myspace.com/triggerpoint and Pure Volume www.purevolume.com/triggerpoint.
What is Total Assault?
It’s a big street team organization that does some of the biggest bands in the world street teams. We have been lucky enough to be picked up by them. So they handle our street team stuff. It’s pretty cool.
What do you dislike about the industry in general or feel it is lacking?
It is lacking honesty and true creativity. Most record executives would rather sign a pretty face that cant sing or write other than a true professional musician or band. It’s pretty sad. It’s the main reason I think the industry is lacking, because they don’t sign believable acts, and they spend millions of dollars cramming no talent artists down people’s throats until they have no other choice but to swallow.
Can you tell me a bit about Corporate Punishment Records and why you chose to sign to CPR?
We wanted to sign with a new company that would let us do things our way and was not yet stuck in a trend or a certain mind frame. Everything they are doing with us they are doing for the first time so if we have an idea they try it. Its nice to have that kind of relationship.
Will you be on tour for the remainder of 2005 and if so where?
We will be on tour until mid November/ Early December. We will primarily be in the mid west/ east coast. Next year we will be hitting all the places that we missed.
Who are some artists that you have been listening to or really like?
Coheed and Cambria, Dillenger Escape plan, Alexis on Fire, Misery Signals, The Bled, Chimairia Etc.
Anything that you would like to add?
Go get our album and if you see that we are playing in your town come out and say hi, we love hanging out with new friends.
