Lucid Forge: I’ve seen a couple interviews on Much Music of yours and the music video “Drive my soul”
Lights: Ya, there is a new one out as well that is kinda like episode two. They are both connected. The first one I’m getting to the planet and the second one is that I’m living on the planet.
LF: So it’s like a story
L: Totally
LF: Do the videos have any particular type of meaning?
L: When I was coming up with the treatment for the first video all I could see was me trying to get to the moon. There is this icon in life that means a lot to me the ambiguous astronaut and he is the one that represents what Drives my soul so it’s just doing whatever it takes to get to what Drives my soul. I also had a lot of fun going out on a tangent and designing the sets and stuff as well.
LF: So that was the whole thing, the inspiration was not just the music it was an entire art piece.
L: Absolutely, I have a crazy imagination. I like reading comics and I like everything to tie in and the chance for me to apply visual and comic inspirations.
LF: Since you have that whole thing behind you, do you design everything that you sell.
L: Yes I do. I do it all.
LF: What kind of songs do you have on the CD?
L: Its electro pop really sinkable melodies, lyrics are generally relatable. I write so I can express what I’m feeling and make myself feel better out of a bad place.
LF: Tell me about yourself, music. Where did you first get inspired to become an artist?
L: Where to begin? I was a homeschool child, my dad is very musical. One day out of the week we got to play music with my dad, I believe it was a Tuesday. That was a day we always looked forward to. We got to learn piano and singing, lyrics and melodies to songs. This just became something I really looked forward to doing, and then when I was 11 I wrote my first song, then when I was 13 I bought an 8 track and started to put all my ideas down because I discovered that song writing was more than just the words and melodies. Everything from drums to bass and everything in the song is just as important so I started to experiment with different sounds in my bedroom like a mad scientist.
LF: Nice. That’s a good story. I’m inspired sitting here with you. I’m an artist as well and I give you props to do what you are doing and go on stage you have a lot of courage. So when it comes to preparing for a show how much preparing do you need?
L: You know, I don’t even warm up. Most people do and I feel a little awkward that I don’t. I mean, maybe someday I will but as it stands I just chill out.
LF: So you are from Toronto.
L: Well I’m from everywhere I’ve lived all over Ontario and traveled to a bunch of places. . I am kind of a drifter but that is the kind of life you have to lead.
LF: How old are you?
L: I’m 21
LF: Wow 21 and already well traveled. Have you taken any school after highschool or anything like that.

L: No, everyone told me that if you have a plan B then you are not trying hard enough for plan A.
LF: Thanks, that’s pretty much all I need. Thanks for your time and I will be out there watching.
