Dark Horse Comics has announced the creation of a new application for Apple’s iPhone that will allow company comics to be read on the portable data device. The application was developed in-house rather than through a third party developer. The first comic available for download will be a classic
Terminator comic in honour of the upcoming release of
Terminator Salvation. “We have always been on the cutting edge of technology, and our new iPhone application allows us to reach a whole new generation of readers,” said Dark Horse President Mike Richardson “We have always felt that it is important to provide our readers with the best reading and viewing experience possible, and this new endeavour is no exception. People have come to expect nothing less from us, and we will do our best to deliver.”

A passionate story of a strong woman looking for true love, Marvel truly brings this tale of romance and betrayal to life in a manner that any comic book fan will enjoy.” Marvel went on to encourage retailers to check their orders for future issues. Comics 2 Film Report First “Official” Look at Iron Man II
The first official picture from the set of
Iron Man II was released to
The USA Today last week featuring a busy Tony Stark surrounded by several variations of his infamous armour. So how much tinkering has Stark done in the intervening time between the first and second films? Well director Jon Favreau hasn’t said, but he did hint at what one of the themes Part II will be exploring. “How many superheroes are open about their true identities?" he asks. "We wanted to play with that idea. But it obviously has consequences — in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore.”
Iron Man II is scheduled for release May 7th, 2010.
Underworld co-creator to saddle up for Horsemen Kevin Grevioux, who co-wrote the first
Underworld film and has gone on to write comics like
The New Warriors, will be writing and directing the big screen adaptation of the graphic novel
The Pale Horsemen. The story is described as a supernatural thriller that revolves around a gang of hit men who are forced to work together to uncover who killed their mentor. Sandrunner Entertainment and DarkStorm Filmworks are producing the film.
Torso and Spawn developments During a premiere screening of
X-Men Origins: Wolverine in Tempe Arizona, Todd McFarlane told IESB.com about the pending status of a couple of films based on his comic properties. First off, McFarlane tells the website that he has five offers on the table to do a new Spawn film; from big special effects studio budgets to a smaller indie budgets that he hopes to be able to write and direct himself. As for
Torso, McFarlane says that he was surprised that the studio backed out of the proposed film that would have been directed by David Fincher, but that the project should be set up at another studio very soon. He also confirmed previous reports that they had Matt Damon locked in as Eliot Ness and Rachel McAdams as the female lead.
