Batman Versus… Sub-Zero?
Midway Games has released cover art and screenshots of its new game which will see the titans of the DC and Mortal Komat universes face off it savage battle; hand-to-hand combat with super-powers. The game,
Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe, will be released this November for the Playstation 3 and X-Box 360. Midway describes the game by saying, "For the first time ever Scorpion, Sub-Zero and the Mortal Kombat warriors battle with Batman, Superman and other popular DC Universe Super Heroes. Choose your side and challenge your opponents with a new fighting system including Freefall Kombat and Klose Kombat along with dynamic multi-tiered environments. Plus, pick your favorite character from MK or DCU and pursue a fighting adventure in the new single player mode with an intertwined storyline and two unique perspectives."
Siegel House Saved Previously it was reported in Lucid Comics of the campaign to rescue the house in which Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created Superman. On Monday, Brad Meltzer spoke out to thank everyone for their efforts in securing a Mission: Accomplished banner for the Siegel & Shuster Society. "I just wanted to thank you for what you unleashed - especially in the efforts to save the house where Superman was created,” said Meltzer. “As you know, the goal was to raise $50,000 just to work on the outside of the house. Instead, we raised $101,000."
Over $94,000 was generated through online auctions where fans could bid for items donated by numerous celebrates from Neil Gaiman to Stephen Colbert. Another nearly $7,500 was raised through cash donations and the sale of collectors t-shirts. Meltzer also shared a note from Jerry Siegel’s wife and daughter: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone involved in this massive undertaking. We have great admiration for you and what you are accomplishing with the auction. We deeply appreciate the love and care you put into it. The amount of money that's already been raised to restore Jerry's house is a magnificent tribute to Jerry's memory.”
