When more than half the column is the list of the month’s upcoming releases, you know that you must be getting close to the Holiday Season. Here are the charts, previews, reviews and new releases for the month of October in Gaming. Charts
What a difference a month – and a price cut – make as the markets go topsy turvy after last month’s recovery, and this in spite of Sony’s reduction in cost of the Playstation 3 to a more manageable $299. Not only are the numbers down over last month, they’re still down over last year with nearly half as many systems being sold in September 2008 over September 2009. The one bright spot though was that the PS3 system sales did increase by a staggering 65 per cent, but overall this is grim news going into the busy holiday shopping season, and puts a lot of additional pressure on companies to make good this year.
